City of Jodhpur

The second city of Rajasthan, Jodhpur sits on the edge of the Thar Desert and is known the world over as the Blue City. Seen from above, its old quarter dissolves into a sea of indigo-washed houses huddled beneath an immense fort, a sight that ranks among the most photographed in all of India.

Towering above it all is mighty Mehrangarh, one of the country's grandest and best-preserved forts.
