The Winter Festival is a lively three-day celebration held at the year's end in Mount Abu, Rajasthan's only hill station, welcoming the new year amid the cool Aravalli heights.
Organised by Rajasthan Tourism together with the local municipality, it features a colourful opening procession, performances of Gair, Ghoomar and other folk dances, music concerts and a Sham-e-Qawwali evening. Boat races on Nakki Lake, sporting contests and a grand fireworks show add to the festive mood.
Set against Mount Abu's forests and lakes, the Winter Festival is a warm and celebratory close to the calendar year.
