The Abhaneri Festival celebrates the heritage of Abhaneri, a village in the Dausa district famous for the spectacular Chand Baori — one of the deepest and largest stepwells in the world — and the ancient Harshat Mata temple.
Organised by Rajasthan Tourism, this festival brings the historic site alive with performances of Rajasthani folk arts such as Kalbeliya, Bhavai and Kachchi Ghodi dances, together with puppet shows and camel rides.
It offers travellers a chance to experience the region's living culture against a backdrop of extraordinary medieval architecture, pleasantly off the usual tourist trail.
